The Russian Yaroslav Demin had a good start at the tournament where he defeated Nicholas Godsick of America in straight sets in first match. After that in a thrilling 3 set match where he defeated Darwin Blanch of America in the second round 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. However his opponent for this round the no 2 seeded player Gillies Arnaud Bailly from Belgium have been in quite a good form. He defeated Gianluca Ballotta in straight sets in first round and Olaf Pieczkowski in second round in 3 set match. The last time this both player faced each other it was Yaroslav Demin who came out of top in the 3 set match.
Yaroslav Demin and Gilles Arnaud Bailly are scheduled to face each other on Wednesday, September 7 in the round of 16 of the 2022 US Open juniors. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
