Borna Coric and Hubert Hurkacz are scheduled to take on one another in the quarter-final of the 2022 ATP Vienna Open.
Croatian tennis player pulled off the shock of the tournament at the ATP Vienna Open on Thursday as he beat second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas to advance to the quarter-final. Tsitsipas was in control in the opening moments of the match as he won the first set and led the second 2-0 but Coric broke straight back and saved a break point at 2-3. Since then, the Croatian won 15 straight points on serve which carried on into the final set of the match. The final set went to a tie-break which saw the Croatian prevail and take a famous 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4)Â victory. Coric will face fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz in the last eight.
While he might not have had as tough a time as his future opponent, Hurkacz had to get past a spirited Emil Ruusuvuori to make it through to the last eight. The score at the end of the tie was 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 which saw the Pole score an incredible 21 aces and return two out of six break points.
Borna Coric and Hubert Hurkacz are scheduled to take on one another in the quarter-final of the 2022 ATP Vienna Open on Friday, October 28. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
The ATP Vienna Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
