After wasting a match-point in the tie-breaker for the second set, Carreno Busta prevailed 7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-2. The world number 23 advanced to the semifinals by defeating Matteo Berrettini, Holger Rune, Jannik Sinner, and Jack Draper in straight sets earlier. Carreno Busta will give himself a good shot against Hurkacz following the kind of run he has had thus far, even though his earlier performances this season haven’t been the best.
