Marie Bouzkova and Linda Noskova will face each other in the semifinal round of the 2022 WTA Prague Open on Saturday, July 30.

Marie Bouzkova has made very easy progress this week and hasn’t dropped a set in her home event. She won her opening match easily against Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus before having to put in a little more effort to win the second set in a tie-break. But after defeating her countrywoman Dominika Salkova in straight sets with just three games lost, Bouzkova went on to easily defeat another young player, Oksana Selekhmeteva, who is now ranked 170th in the world, in their eighth-round encounter. The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the two Czech players.

Linda Noskova, on the other hand, may be the first to say that luck has aided her along the road, beginning with her first round match against Natalia Vikhlyantseva, a qualifier rated 265th in the world, whom she was leading by a set and a break when her opponent had to quit injured. But there was nothing lucky about the way she battled through Alize Cornet of France, the number five seed, in the second round, completing the match with a third set tie-break. However, Lady Luck shined on her once more in the quarter-finals. She was up a set and a break against Nao Hibino when the Japanese player was forced to quit due to an injury.
