Andrey Rublev, a member of the ATP’s lauded ‘Next Generation,’ is a player who has the potential to win multiple Grand Slams by the end of his career. Despite being only 23 years old, the Russian has already won 10 ATP titles – eight in singles and two in doubles. He is also an important member of Russia’s Davis Cup team. He is a junior French Open champion as well as a youth Olympic medalist, having won silver in the doubles and bronze in the singles tennis events at the Nanjing Summer Games in 2014.
Rublev has been near the top of the mountain of men’s tennis for quite a while now and as a result, he has played against some of the best in the world. The Russian has his fair share of heated sporting rivalries against these players, and here is a look at a few of them.
Rublev has faced Nadal three times in his career so far and has been the winner on only one of those occasions. Rublev beat the legendary Spaniard in the quarter-finals of the 2021 ATP Masters 1000 at Monte Carlo.

Nadal, however, has won two of the three matches against the Russian. One was at the 2020 Nitto ATP FInals and the other was at the 2017 US Open.

Rublev and Federer have only played one match together, and the Russian can boast of a dominant victory over the Swiss on that occasion. It was in the round of 16 of the ATP Masters 1000 at Cincinnati in 2019. The scoreline was 6-3 6-4 in favour of the Russian.

The spoils have been shared so far when it comes to Rublev and Kyrgios. The two have faced each other twice and have won one each. Rublev recorded his victory at the 2019 US Open while the Australian won in Moscow in 2018.

One player who seems to always have Rublev’s number is Germany’s Alexander Zverev. In five meetings, the Russian has always come up short. Zverev won his matches at four ATP competitions and the 2020 Australian Open.

Rublev has had quite a tight battle against Dimitrov over the years. The two tennis players have faced each other a total of four times, with the victories being shared. Dimitrov emerged victorious in the 2018 Australian Open and at Rotterdam while Rublev won in Beijing and the 2017 US Open.
