Matteo Berrettini has had a fine season so far and the Italian will look to keep it that way at the 2022 Swiss Open. Berrettini won to tournaments on the trot earlier this year with the Stuttgart Open and the Queen’s Club Championships. In Gstaad, the Italian beat Richard Gasquet in the round of 16 by a score of 6-4, 6-4 to make it through to the quarter-final. Seeded second in the competition, the Swiss Open crown is something the Italian will be expecting to get his hands on.
Berrettini will go up against fifth seed Pedro Martinez in the quarter-final of the competition. Martinez beat compatriot Carlos Taberner in the first round before ousting Elias Ymer in the second. The Spaniard recorded a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win over Ymer to set up a date with Berrettini.
Matteo Berrettini and Pedro Martinez will take on each other on Friday, July 22 in the quarter final of the 2022 Swiss Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 17 and conclude on July 23 this year.
