On Sunday ATP Nordea Open final in Bastad will feature an all-Argentine final between Sebastian Baez and Francisco Cerundolo.

In the semifinal on Saturday, a dominant Sebastian Baez put up a powerhouse effort to defeat the second seed Andrey Rublev in just one hour and sixteen minutes to advance to his third season final. Baez wasn’t scared despite having to play Rublev, a better player, and attacked the Russian in the first set. In the first set, the Argentine didn’t encounter a break point and won 2 of 5 opportunities to take the lead. Rublev broke back in the eighth game to put the set back on serve after Baez also grabbed an early break in the second. However, the 21-year-old Argentine broke once again in the decisive game to win the match 6-2, 6-4. With the victory, Baez improved to 25-16 for the year. Baez has won in Estoril and finished second in Santiago this year. He is 21-9 on clay. The World No. 34 will enter the final with confidence after defeating another good player on Saturday.
In the semifinal match on Saturday, Francisco Cerundolo easily defeated Pablo Carreno Busta to advance to his second ATP final. The Argentine, who came in second place in Buenos Aires last year, will now try to win his first championship on Sunday. The World No. 39, who has recently not been playing at his best, has looked fantastic in Bastad, where he also defeated top seed and French Open semifinalist Casper Ruud in a three-set match in the second round. The Argentine secured the only break of the first set against Carreno Busta on Saturday in the eighth game. After winning the first set, Cerundolo controlled the second, jumping out to a 5-0 lead before Carreno Busta claimed two games in a row to tie the match. In the following game, Cerundolo finished off the match to secure a 6-3, 6-2 triumph in an hour and 17 minutes, making sure there were no further setbacks.
Francisco Cerundolo and Sebastian Baez will take on each other on Friday, July 17 in the final round of the 2022 ATP Nordea Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 11 and conclude on July 17 this year.
