Victoria Azarenka and Tereza Martincova will face each other in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Citi Open on Saturday, August 6.

Victoria Azarenka will be pleased with her 6-4, 6-0 victory over Dayana Yastremska in the Citi Open 2022. Azarenka, who is now ranked No. 20 in the world, has had a difficult season. Although she is now 15-8, she hasn’t been very active recently, and the majority of her victories have come on hard courts. Three of her last four finals have occurred here, including the Indian Wells Open last season. Azarenka’s most recent tournament was the French Open, where she lost in the third round to Jil Teichmann. The 32-year-old had reached the quarterfinals in Rome, Madrid, and Miami, but lost to a slew of young players including Linda Fruhvirtova, Amanda Anisimova, and Iga Swiatek.
Tereza Martincova (#73), 27, defeated Xinyu Wang 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. With this win, the Czech improved her record to 12-17 and ended a four-match losing streak that had spanned Birmingham, Eastbourne, Wimbledon, and Prague. Tereza was out of form, losing to Camila Giorgi, Katie Boulter, and Chloe Paquet. Her season has started with losses, but she has played well on hard courts in St. Petersburg and Doha (round three appearances). Martincova also finished second in doubles in Melbourne and Adelaide. All of these results have increased her confidence, and she can do amazing things with a little momentum.
Victoria Azarenka and Tereza Martincova will face each other in the round of 16 of the 2022 Citi Open on Friday, August 5. The WTA 250 competition is scheduled to start from August 1 and end on August 7 this year.

The 2022 Citi Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 1 and conclude on August 8 this year.
