In the Libema Open semifinals, Felix Auger-Aliassime lost to Tim van Rijthoven in three sets to begin his grass season. In the quarterfinals of the Halle Open, he was defeated by Hubert Hurkacz in two close sets. Given his series of successful performances at Grand Slam tournaments over the previous year, the Canadian was anticipated to do well at Wimbledon. At the All England Club, Auger-Aliassime faced up against Maxime Cressy in the opening round. After winning the first set, he lost control of the match. He struggled to manage the American’s play and ultimately fell in four sets. Last year, Auger-Aliassime lost to Matteo Berrettini in the quarterfinal round. After making it to the second week of every Major since the 2021 French Open, this was his quickest departure from a Grand Slam. Now competing in the Hall of Fame Open for the first time, Auger-Aliassime hopes to have a successful debut.

Jason Kubler is finally having a respectable year on the tour after years of injury issues, which included six knee operations. He spent two unforgettable weeks at Wimbledon. Kubler eliminated local favourite Dan Evans in the opening round of play after winning his three qualifying matches to advance to the main draw. In the second round, the Australian defeated Denis Novak and won. Kubler advanced to the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career after defeating Jack Sock in a grueling five-set match, however he was defeated by Taylor Fritz in straight sets. Following a mixed doubles final at the Australian Open earlier this year, this was his finest singles performance and the second best of his career. In Newport, Kubler has also maintained his recent success, winning his opening round 6-2, 6-3 over fellow countryman Jordan Thompson.
