Despite failing to convert a break point against Richard Gasquet on Saturday, Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to his second ATP Tour final in as many weeks by dominating two tie-breaks in a 7-6(2), 7-6(3) victory at the European Open. Auger-Aliassime, who won his second tour-level title last week in Florence, will compete in his 12th tour-level final on Sunday in Antwerp against Sebastian Korda. As he pursues his ATP Finals debut, he will look to extend his winning streak to eight matches and secure his seventh-place standing in the ATP Live Race To Turin.
Sebastian Korda won a semi-final thriller at the European Open on Saturday, rallying from a break down in the third set to beat Dominic Thiem 6-7(4), 6-3, 7-6(4). After dropping a tight first set, the American held his nerve and focused in important moments to advance to his second tour-level final of the season after two hours and 47 minutes.
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Sebastian Korda are scheduled to face each other in the final of the 2022 ATP European Open on Sunday, October 23. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 17 and end on October 23.
