The top two seeds in the draw, Holger Rune and Jannik Sinner, both receive byes in the first round.
Montpellier will play host to the 36th Open Sud de France from February 6–12, 2023. In a busy week of tennis, there are five tournaments happening on the ATP and WTA tours. The top two seeds in this tournament are Holger Rune and Jannik Sinner. Both have had successful starts to the new year, reaching the Australian Open’s fourth round and quarterfinals, respectively. Other notable competitors include Borna Coric and Roberto Bautista Agut, who are seeded third and fourth, respectively. The Spaniard is currently in pretty good form, placing second at the Adelaide International 2 and reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open. Coric, on the other hand, was defeated in the opening round of the first Grand Slam of the year.
The top four seeds won’t play until Wednesday because they received byes into the second round. Alexander Bublik, the reigning champion, is also present. He won his first ATP title here last year by defeating Alexander Zverev, and he’s hoping to do it again this year. Four-time Montpellier champion Richard Gasquet is also a contender. The Frenchman will be eager to win another trophy here and please the home crowd. Other notable names in the draw include Maxime Cressy, Aslan Karatsev, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
