Carlos Alcaraz isn’t playing well in Hamburg, but it doesn’t matter because he’s still winning. The match versus Krajinovic was another tense affair in which the Spaniard primarily prevailed owing to being psychologically stronger. Krajinovic served for the first set at 5-4 and led the first set tiebreak 4-2 but lost. He lost the tiebreak by conceding five consecutive points. In the second game, Krajinovic was thoroughly outplayed by a good Alcaraz, who won 6-3. Despite not performing very well so far, there was a noticeable improvement from round one to round two. That bodes well for the Spaniard, who is looking to grow even more with a semifinal on the horizon.
Karen Khachanov’s return proved beneficial, as he was able to take down local player Jan-Lennard Struff, giving him even more confidence moving ahead despite not playing for precisely 30 days. Fabio Fognini was the opponent, and despite a few mistakes, he was able to achieve a strong straight sets triumph. The victory puts him in a strong position to face Carlos Alcaraz again this year. The Spaniard defeated him in Roland Garros, and Khachanov played well. He played at a high level at times and had some nice chances. If he continues to play well, he will have some opportunities against an average Alcaraz.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from July 18 to July 24, but the qualifiers will commence from July 16 for both the men’s and women’s categories.
