Since 2012, the Women’s Tennis Association has hosted a worldwide series of professional women’s tennis tournaments known as the WTA 125. It is the second highest level of women’s play, just below the top-tier WTA Tour and just above the ITF Women’s Circuit tournaments. It is also known as the WTA Challenger Series. Players who place in the WTA 125s gain enough ranking points to compete in WTA Tour tournaments in the main draw or qualifying draw. WTA 125 tournament titles and losses are counted independently from a player’s WTA Tour results and head-to-head statistics.
The 2022 WTA Gaiba Challenger is a grass court tournament that will commence on June 13, 2022 and conclude on June 19, 2022. The total financial commitment for the competition is USD 115,000. It is the first edition of the tournament and the top seed is Alison van Uytvanck of Belgium.
