Italy finished at top of the Pool E to get 25 points from nine matches at the end of Phase 2. They got past China 3-1 in the quarterfinals.

Both these teams faced each other earlier in the competition and it was the Asian nation that emerged victorious. It was the only defeat suffered by the South American country.

The South American country lost all three Phase 2 matches they have played till now against the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

The Dutch nation began Phase 2 on a positive note, beating Argentina 3-1 before suffering successive defeats against China and Brazil.

Japan were placed in Pool D. They had won four of the five matches they played in the competition to get 12 points.

There is not much to separate the two sides, as their respective performances in Phase 1 have been almost identical.

Sitting at the top of Pool D, China have 12 points from four games. Not only have they won the four matches they played but won them all by the same 3-0 margin.

The Women’s World Championship 2022 is hosted in the Netherlands and Poland this year and it will take place from 23rd September to 15th October.

Table toppers China have nine points from three games in Pool D, while the Czech Republic are languishing at the fifth spot with zero points.

Brazil kickstarted their proceedings with a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic before playing their regional rival Argentina.
