Sanil Shetty will take on Ghanaian paddler Derek Abrefa in the round of 32 of the men’s singles event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Veteran Indian paddler Sanil Shetty is so stranger to winning medals for his country at the Commonwealth Games. The only thing missing from his cabinet would be a medal in the men’s singles event. At the 2018 CWG at Gold Coast, Shetty won the bronze medal in the men’s doubles category and the gold medal in the men’s team category. He repeated his feat this year in the men’s team category but his primary focus is arguably a singles medal. On August 5, Shetty will face Ghana’s Derek Abrefa in the round of 32 of the men’s singles event. The 32-year-old has been in fine form throughout the competition and he will look to carry his form into the singles matches.
