“Finally the first call-up after more than four month,” he wrote on Instagram.

Although Ivan Perisic is expected to start at the left wing-back position against the rossoneri, Gosens could make his first appearance with the Serie A defending champions coming off the bench.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has revealed on InterTV that both Gosens and Joaquim Correa would be called up for the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg clash against city rivals.

“They’ve recovered,” he said of the pair, “their condition is improving every day. We’ve yet to complete today’s training, and I think they can be called up tomorrow after a long time out.”

Of the match, he said that “It will certainly be a beautiful showpiece occasion for Milan, but our focus must clearly be on the pitch and our performance.”

“This must increase the sense of responsibility for us to prepare for this match at our absolute best,” he added.

“I think it will be a battle where everyone will try to prevail,” he added, “but at the same time mentality and motivation will make the difference.”
