The latest edition of Derby della Mole will take place at Allianz Arena on Friday evening, as Juventus host rivals Torino for a key match in Italy’s top flight.  Juve are currently fourth in the Serie A standings, nine points behind leaders AC Milan, while Torino sit at the 10th spot with 32 points from 24 games. Following a superb start to February, Juve’s run was scuppered by a frustrating 1-1 draw against Atalanta last week. The season hasn’t been the best for Massimiliano Allegri’s men but they have managed to stay in the Champions League race and could possibly challenge for the Scudetto with a few big results in the future.

Allegri has hinted that the title dreams are almost over for the Bianconneri. Inconsistencies and struggles in breaking down the opposition defense has been a problem for Allegri’s side. But with the arrival of new recruits in the January transfer window, Juve look much more confident and lethal in the attacking department.

The arrival of star striker Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina has certainly instilled more quality in the attacking department. Allegri’s game-plan of playing three up front with Vlahovic down the centre and Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala alongside him seems to be working pretty well.

Although Juve needed a last-minute equaliser from Danilo to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games in the match against Atalanta on Sunday, Allegri’s side created a decent number of chances and were unlucky not to get a positive result.

Torino’s defensive record has been impressive

The Old Lady has won three of their last five games in the league but still have a lot of work to do to pull themselves into title contention heading into the final stages of the league. Juventus’ home form this season is far from best in the league, having dropped points in five of their 12 matches in front of their own supporters.

Meanwhile, Torino’s away record in Italy’s top flight has been the third-worst, picking up just nine points from 12 matches this term. But their defensive record has been very impressive, having conceded just 25 goals, fewer than league leaders AC Milan. In fact only three teams including Juve have conceded less goals than Torino. Therefore it’s going to be a tough task for Juve’s new look front-three break down the rival defence.

The last encounter between these two sides ended in Juve winning 1-0, thanks to a last goal from Manuel Locatelli. Allegri’s side are certainly the favourites against the City rivals but its going to be a solid encounter as Torino is desperate for a turnaround, having failed to win any of their last three games
