The Roosters have advanced to the top eight and are in a position to play in the finals for the sixth consecutive year thanks to their current five-game winning streak. The Roosters are looking every bit a title contender with James Tedesco in outstanding form and their forwards working tirelessly in the middle, but they still face some formidable obstacles.

On Saturday night, the faltering Tigers are expected to be easily defeated by them, but the Storm and Rabbitohs will present much tougher competition in the final two games of the regular season. The Tigers must play their best rugby against the Roosters, Dragons, and Raiders in their final three games if they are to escape the joint venture’s first-ever wooden spoon after dropping to last due to their defeat to Cronulla.

Team news and changes

Oliver Gildart, a mid-season addition to the Roosters, makes his club debut after Paul Momirovski withdrew on Friday. In the NSW Cup last weekend, Gildart led North Sydney with five tries. Big men Siosiua Taukeiaho (cheekbone) and Lindsay Collins (concussion) are still out.

James Roberts leaves the West Tigers lineup when Ken Maumalo recovers from a knee injury, moving Starford To’a to the centers. Tyrone Peachey is moved to the reserves, and Alex Seyfarth is added to the bench. Luke Brooks (calf) and Stefano Utoikamanu (wrist) are not anticipated to return until Round 24 at the earliest. The 24-hour update on Friday did not alter.
