As the season comes to an end, two West Yorkshire clubs will face off this week in an effort to secure a favorable position in the playoffs. Huddersfield enters the game coming off a surprising and underwhelming loss to Salford, which leaves them needing to regain their momentum as the play-off approaches and gives them work to do to secure third place in the standings.

For the Tigers, a victory here would be priceless to their efforts and lay down a marker in terms of reinforcing their Grand Final credentials. Despite injuries, they are still working hard to secure a spot in the top six. Jack Ashworth, a victim of their shocking loss to Salford last week, will be absent this week after receiving a suspension. Ashworth is absent due to a ban, joining Will Pryce. While Josh Jones will miss the game due to a groin injury, the good news is that Ricky Leutele is returning from his injury.

Lee Radford’s ongoing injury crisis has been made worse by the suspension of two additional players this week—Adam Milner and Suaia Matagi—who both received suspensions in the triumph over Catalans. The Tigers, like Huddersfield, welcome back star center Jordan Turner, along with Jake Mamo and Cheyse Blair. It appears that Sosaia Feki’s time playing for Castleford is gone.

Key Players

Greg Eden and Tui Lolohea play extremely different positions. With Eden at the back for Cas, it’s like having a winger at fullback, a strike weapon, as opposed to Lolohea at fullback, who is practically like having a stand-off at one. It’s a battle of styles, but there are two individuals that will have an impact on how well their teams do offensively. The player that stands out the most could help his or her side win.

Against Catalans last week, Gareth O’Brien stood his ground. For the Tigers, he set the pace and expertly coordinated their attack. Theo Fages, who still shown some powerful touches in the loss to Salford, will be O’Brien’s opponent. A solid pack will help Fages control the game.
