One of the attractions of Round 23 will likely be an all-top-eight matchup at Suncorp Stadium in front of a sizable crowd. While the Storm were incredibly outstanding in their shutout of the Panthers, the Broncos got back on track with a win over the Knights and are currently sixth in the standings.

The Storm won the match between the two teams in Melbourne in Round 15 32-20, so they will be very confident, especially given Cameron Munster’s form at fullback. If given too much room to roam, the Broncos’ superstars Adam Reynolds, Payne Haas, and Kotoni Staggs can rip apart the defense.

In the NRL encounter between the Melbourne Storm and the Brisbane Broncos on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium, reigning player of the year Jahrome Hughes is expected to make a comeback. The Kiwi halfback, who missed last week’s 16-0 triumph over Penrith due to an injured shoulder suffered in the Round 21 victory over the Gold Coast Titans at AAMI Park, has been given the No. 7 jersey.

Cooper Johns and center Marion Seve, who has a minor hamstring ailment, are both cut from the 22-man roster. Young Tonumeipea, who joined the Storm in the middle of the season, will replace Seve in the centers and start the Storm’s second game in three weeks.

Following the demise of his father Taniela, forward pack back-rower Felise Kaufusi of the Origin team has been awarded an additional week of personal leave. To replace Brandon Smith and Tui Kamikamica, who started against the Panthers, Tom Eisenhuth and Josh King have been named to the starting lineup.
