Take a look at the results of day one as the Shooting events marked their beginning at the National Games 2022.
The shooting events kicked off at the National Games 2022 with the 10m air rifle men and women’s qualification rounds and stage one of the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol men at the Ahmedabad Rifle Club on September 29, 2022. 14-year-old Tilottama Sen from Karnataka displayed sensational shooting as she amassed a total of 633.6 in the women’s 10m air rifle qualifications. Her qualification score was just 0.4 lesser than the current world record set by Zhao Ruozhu of China (634.0) at the ISSF World Cup 2019 in New Delhi. Odisha’s Sriyanka Sadangi (629.3) secured second place in the qualification, while Tokyo Olympian Elavenil Valarivan placed fifth with a score of 629.0.
In the men’s 10m air rifle, Junior World champion and Tokyo Olympian (in Rifle 3 Positions) Aishwary Pratap Singh shot 631.7 to reach the final with a second-place finish in the qualifications. Another Tokyo Olympian Divyansh Singh Panwar finished fifth with a total of 629.6. Sri Karthik Sabari Raj from Tamil Nadu topped the qualification, scoring 632.2. The finalists also include promising names like Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Hriday Hazarika, and Arjun Babuta who clinched two golds in ISSF World Cup Changwon 2022.
Stage one of the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol was also conducted today, which was led by Uttarakhand’s Ankur Goel with a score of 293 (10x). The London Olympics silver medalist Vijay Kumar attained a total of 290 to take the second position. With 288 in the first stage, the Commonwealth Games (CWG) gold medalist Anish Bhanwala is now in the third spot. Stage two is scheduled to take place tomorrow. While the finals of both men’s and women’s 10m air rifle will be held tomorrow at 9:30 am and 11:00 am respectively.
