Manu Bhaker is among the highly rated prospects for India in the shooting sport. She has earned numerous medals in international tournaments like the Commonwealth Games (gold), World Championships, and World Cups for the nation. The Haryana-born girl is also a Youth Olympic gold medalist. She even represented India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 where she narrowly missed out on an opportunity to reach the final in the individual event finishing 12th in the 10m air pistol.
The Tokyo Olympian Manu has confirmed her participation at the National Games 2022. She has also been picked in the squad for the World Championships Rifle/Pistol to be held in Cairo, Egypt from October 12 to 25. However, Manu couldn’t make it in the 10m air pistol event and will be competing in the 25m sports pistol event instead. This is also the first instance when Manu won’t feature in an air pistol event in her career. But, the Indian ace shooter will be eyeing to make a comeback as she heads towards the 36th edition of the National Games. Since a lot of top shooters will be present in the games, it would also serve as a good preparation ahead for the World Championships Cairo 2022.
