Boxer Amir Khan said on Monday, April 18 that he was robbed at gunpoint in London by two unidentified men.
On Monday night, Amir Khan stated that his £71,000 watch was taken at gunpoint outside an east London restaurant. Two individuals chased the former world champion down the street, one brandishing a gun in his face before stealing the diamond-encrusted Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph watch.
The males had escaped in a getaway car down High Road in Leyton at 9.15 pm when police arrived and checked the area. Khan, 35, assured supporters that he and his 30-year-old wife Faryal Makhdoom were safe following the incident.
Khan tweeted, “Just had my watch taken off me at gunpoint in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was a few steps behind me. Two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whilst having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.”

The pair had just finished a night out when they were accosted outside the Sahara Grill. An eyewitness told The Sun, “They were not hanging around. They got straight into the car and fled.
“Amir had enjoyed a lovely evening with his wife and had been shopping earlier in the day.
“It raises real fears he was a deliberate target. It’s extremely serious.”
Olympic medalist Khan had earlier published images on Instagram of himself shopping with a pal on Oxford Street while wearing the showy rose gold watch with 719 diamonds. On Friday, the actor wore the watch to a charity event for his foundation at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane.
Khan updated Instagram followers again on Tuesday morning. He addressed supporters in a video, saying: “Good morning everyone, had a good sleep. Last night was a bit mad. But glad everyone is safe. Feels a bit weird not wearing a watch. I’m all good, me and the wife.”
