Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou: Indian Equestrians who qualified for the tournament

The Games will feature 40 sports this year. Here is a list of all the Indian athletes who have qualified for the Games in the Equestrian discipline.

The Chinese city of Hangzhou will host the Asian Games 2022 from September 23 to October 8, 2023. The 15-day continental championship, which was originally scheduled for 2022 but was moved to 2023 because of COVID-19, will feature 40 sports this year, with Asia’s best athletes vying for top honors. Asian Games 2022 is anticipated to see even greater Indian participation in various competitions due to the increase in medal events this year.

India has a long history at the quadrennial competition, and over the past two decades. Indian participation in the Asian Games has increased significantly. India participated in 36 different sports at the previous competition in Jakarta with a contingent of 570 athletes. Deepanshu Sheoran

Maj. Sheoran, a native of Kashipur, Uttarakhand, is a fourth-generation military family member who has three times commanded the 61 Cavalry’s presence at the Rajpat for the Republic Day Parade. Only one horse-mounted cavalry regiment is currently in service around the globe: 61 Cavalry. Maj. Sheoran developed his equestrian skills while serving in the NDA. In 2014 he competed for his country in the under-25 tent-pegging event at a competition in South Africa against South Africa, India, and Pakistan. As the best rider, he won the award. He has always been interested in horses, and he likes them.

Raju Singh Bhadoria

As a result of qualifying for the Asian Games on Saturday, Madhya Pradesh farmer Raju Singh Bhadoria made history. Bhadoria, who is receiving instruction at the MP Equestrian Academy, is from the MP’s Bhind district, and his father Sujan Singh Bhadoria is a farmer. With 40.8 penalties, Raju fulfilled the requirements for Asian Games qualification, qualifying as India’s fourth competitor. Before earning a spot on the Indian team, Raju first qualified for the second qualifier, which took place from January 4–8, 61 Kevalri in Jaipur, with 37 penalties. With 40.4 penalties, he then qualified for the opening trial at the Army Equestrian Center Delhi in 2022.

 Apoorva Dabade

The 61 Cavalry’s Major Apurva Dabhade has earned the right to represent India at the forthcoming Asian Games in China. There were four selection trials held across India during the five-month-long, rigorous selection process. During the four trials held in India, Major Apurva Dabhade distinguished himself by displaying exceptional talent and dedication, earning a spot on the national team. The Equestrian Federation of India would make the official announcement of the team.

Vikas Kumar

A rider named Vikas Kumar qualified for the Asian Games last month and is now aiming for the Olympics in Paris. China’s restrictions on Indian horses, however, present a challenge for him. He will need to lease a foreign horse, get a visa to train and compete in Europe and go through the qualification process once more to be eligible for the Asian Games.

Ashish Limai

The selection process is currently being led by Limaye, who was born in Pune and moved to Bengaluru a few years ago. Apurva Dabhade is right behind her. To guarantee that four out of the six made it onto the Indian team for the team competition, which will be held in China in September, Raju Singh and Vikas Kumar also qualified. Only Limaye, riding the horses Dinard Penguinan and Willy Be Dun, was able to complete the individual event requirements.

Hriday Chheda

Hriday Chheda of India has earned a spot in the dressage division of the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China. In both India and the UK, Hriday had success in dressage competitions up to the Intermediate I level. The 24-year-old was one of the youngest riders to win the National Champion title at the Prix St. George level in 2015 after taking first place in the Zone 8 Advance Dressage at the FEI World Dressage Challenge in 2014.
