The match between the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers will take place at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Canada on Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 PM ET.
The Winnipeg Jets will welcome the Edmonton Oilers to Canada Life Centre for an NHL preseason game on Saturday. Winnipeg are coming into this game after winning a close game 4-3 against the Montreal Canadiens. Brad Lambert, Cole Maier, Evan Polei and Nate Schmidt scored for the Jets in what was an intense game. Head coach Rick Bowness said after the game, “We were skating, we were playing fast, we were getting on top of them, we weren’t giving up any chances, any odd mans, the things we wanted to clean up. We stayed in the fight, and found a way to win the game.”
The Edmonton Oilers on the other hand won their last game 2-1 against the Calgary Flames after goals from Leon Draisaitl and Brett Kulak. Goaltender Calvin Pickard had a fine game as he saved all the 14 shots that were aimed at goal. Speaking of Calvin Pickard, head coach Jay Woodcroft said, “I thought he (Pickard) was good. I thought both of our goaltenders were good just like how their goaltender was good. Jack didn’t get a tonne of work, but I thought he was clean with the puck, he looked confident and big in the net, and I was quite pleased with his first 30 minutes.”
