The Capitals have a record of (16-13-4) and are looking to win their second straight season. The Detroit Red Wings are looking to take the wheel off this season. They lost his final five fights and are starting to fall in the Atlantic Division as their rivals gain momentum and catch up. They move further down the leaderboard and are less likely to secure a wild card spot.
With continued sloppy play, the Red Wings continue to dig a deeper hole. Injuries have been an issue, but the good news is that Dylan Larkin and Philippe Froneck are back in the lineup. Larkin doesn’t seem to be at 100% yet, but he’s taking a day off to give him time to rest and recover and hopefully get closer to 100%. Also on a positive note, Jakub Vrana is also working towards a comeback and will give them an extra boost when he gets back on the ice. He is skating again but in good condition and red He still needs time to prepare to return to the Wings roster.
