The NHL matchup between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Seattle Kraken takes place at the T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night. A defenseman’s anxiety and a forward’s joy. A ticket holder’s fantasy and a coach’s worst nightmare. The Seattle Kraken scored the most goals and allowed the most goals in a win to date in their chaotic victory over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday. Timo Meier of San Jose scored three goals. The Kraken prevailed 8–5. It was enjoyable to play in, according to Kraken center Matty Beniers. “The fans enjoyed it. For the coaches, it was awful,” said Kraken coach Dave Hakstol. Kaapo Kahkonen seized control when Kraken forward Oliver Bjorkstrand found himself alone in front of him early in the third quarter.

He completed a full 360-degree spin before transferring the ball from his forehand to his backhand and flipping it over the San Jose Sharks goalie. In order to restart the Kraken, Bjorkstrand overcame a goal drought that had lasted 17 games and started with the season opener in Anaheim. Although the Sharks had already overturned a two-goal deficit, the safety net created by Bjorkstrand and Jaden Schwartz held up just about intact until Beniers fluffed it and Schwartz threw in an empty-net goal at Climate Pledge Arena.

Andre Burakovsky, who claimed Bjorkstrand swapped sticks amid the scoring slump, stated Bjorkstrand recently moved off the top line opposite. Burakovsky sent his warmest congrats to the rookie after he scored Wednesday’s highlight-reel goal. Burakovsky knotted the score at 1 after nine seconds of a minute-long 5-on-3 thanks to a screen from Schwartz. On his third try, Burakovsky (goal, two assists) came close to scoring again, but the puck was stopped by the mosh pit. Beniers (goal, two assists) advanced the puck up the boards, beat Nick Bonino in defense, and then passed the puck to Vince Dunn. Dunn simply needed to tap it past Kahkonen to tie the score at 2-2.
