The Toronto Maple Leafs will welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to Scotiabank Arena for an NHL game on Tuesday. The Leafs lost 5-2 against the Capitals in their last game. Charlie Lindgren made 34 saves in his seventh consecutive start, keeping Washington in the game when Toronto tilted the ice in his direction, especially in the second period. Hathaway scored 10 seconds into the third to provide some breathing room.
“It was one of those games where I knew they were gonna have some opportunities and just wanted to rise to the occasion,” Lindgren said.
The Lightning on the other hand won 1-5 against the Canadienss in their last game. Brandon Hagel had a three-point performance as the Tampa Bay Lightning began a four-game road trip with a decisive 5-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
Hagel hit a milestone with his first goal when he reached the 100-point mark in the National Hockey League. It was a feat the fifth-year pro didn’t realize was at arm’s reach. “I’m not even sure, maybe, I guess it was 100?” Hagel asked. “It’s crazy from how it started and the ups and downs I’ve been through and finally to get that, it’s pretty cool.”
