The Dallas Stars have signed 38-year-old center Joe Pavelski to a one-year contract extension through the 2023-24 season. The contract valued him at $3.5 million in base salary, which includes $2 million in potential incentive awards. Pavelski has 12 goals and 25 assists in 38 appearances this season. Since signing with Dallas in 2019, Pavelski has scored 78 goals and 122 assists in his 243 appearances. In his 13 years with the San Jose Sharks, he scored 761 points in his 963 games. He has starred in the Stars’ most dynamic goalscoring chart alongside Jason Robertson, who leads the team with 25 goals, and Lupe Hintz, who is second on the team with 42 points. Hintz signed an eight-year contract extension with the Stars in November, while Robertson signed a four-year contract extension in October.

Since joining the Stars before the 2019/20 season, Pavelski has led the club in points (78-122-200), assists (122), plus or minus rating (+62), and power-play goals (38).
