The Tampa Bay Lightning made an emphatic comeback as they beat the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 in Game 3 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and are now 2-1 in the series. Steven Stamkos, Pat Maroon and Ondrej Palat each had a goal and an assist, and the Lightning scored four times in the second period in what was their most comprehensive showing in this series. Anthony Cirelli, Nicholas Paul and Corey Perry also scored to help the defending champions bounce back after losing the first two games on the road. Andrei Vasilevskiy who was criticised a lot before the game stopped 37 shots.

Colorado Avalanche were disappointing

For the Avalanche, Gabriel Landeskog had two goals and Mikko Rantanen had two assists. Kuemper gave up five goals on 22 shots before he was replaced by Pavel Francouz, who finished the game with nine saves. Game 4 is Wednesday night at Amalie Arena, where Tampa Bay has won a franchise-record eight straight playoff games and Colorado lost on the road for the first time this postseason.
