Erik Karlsson is regarded by many as one of the best ice hockey left defenseman to have played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on 31 May,1990 in Landsbro, Sweden. He started out his career in the Elitserien league for Frölunda HC on 1 March 2008, recording 8:48 of ice time in the home game against league leaders HV71. Karlsson scored the game-winning goal in overtime that secured a playoff berth for Frölunda with three games remaining in the regular season. Karlsson finished the season with Frölunda’s J20 team playing for them in the playoffs, where Frölunda won against Brynäs IF’s J20 team in the Swedish Junior Ice Hockey Championship final and won the Anton Cup, two games to one.
He currently plays for the San Jose Sharks having joined them way back in 2018 when he was traded by the Ottawa Senators for four players. He was named in the NHL All-Star Team on four occasions and has been in the NHL All-Decade Second Team of 2010-19. He has won the James Norris Memorial Trophy two times and he also the Viking Award that is presented to the best Swedish ice-hockey player playing in North America 3 times. He has also won the Olympic Best Defenseman title in 2014 and been the part of the Olympic All-Star Team that same year. Erik Karlsson wears the #65 jersey for the San Jose Sharks.
Erik Karlsson was picked up by the Ottawa Senators in the 2008 NHL Draft. He started his first game on December 19, 2009 against the Minnesota Wild, and eventually scored first goal for his side and went onto win the match 4-1. He was also a part of the Ottawa’s 2010 Stanley Cup playoff games.

She completed her graduation and received her Honors Degree in communications and minored in psychology. After graduation, she went on to study French at Algonquin College. She attended classes there for two years. She also does a lot of charity work and had been working on a charity of her own and has an anti-bullying campaign called “Can’t Dim My Light”. She currently is the Chief Marketing Officer at Wellington Creative, a firm that bills itself as “Ottawa’s Digital Creative Agency.” Melinda and Erik have two kids with each other, one girl and a girl.
