The game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey Devils will take place at PPG Paints Arena on Friday, December 30 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will welcome the New Jersey Devils to PPG Paints Arena for an NHL game on Friday. The Penguins lost 4-5 against the Red Wings in their last game. Dylan Larkin started the Detroit comeback in the second period with a power-play goal, and David Perron completed it with his third goal in three games. Joe Veleno and Jonatan Berggren also scored to help the Red Wings win consecutive games following a six-game losing streak.
Magnus Hellberg relieved Ville Husso in the second period and made 19 saves. Husso stopped eight shots in the first period. “We weren’t awful,” Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said. “We weren’t 4-0 bad. We had some missed opportunities in the first period and unfortunately, it put us in a big hole.”
The Devils on the other hand lost 1-3 against the Bruins in their last game. Vitek Vanecek made 24 saves for New Jersey, which fell to 22-11-2. Nico Hischier scored for the Devils.
“We did all the things that we talk about,” Erik Haula said. “You have to play 60 minutes, especially when we we play against the best teams in the league. If you don’t play 60, you’re vulnerable. And we got to fix that. Like now.”
