The game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings will take place at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday, December 28 at 7:30 PM ET.
The Pittsburgh Penguins will welcome the Detroit Red Wings to PPG Paints Arena for an NHL game on Saturday. The Penguins lost 3-4 against the Hurricanes in their last game. Sidney Crosby scored his 19th goal, Bryan Rust his ninth and Brock McGinn added a short-handed goal for the Penguins.
They lost to the Hurricanes for the second time in five days. Pittsburgh has lost to the Hurricanes three times in the last three weeks, all by one goal. But the Penguins still have points in 18 of their last 21 games overall.
The Red Wings on the other hand won 7-4 against the Lightning in their last game. Rookie forward Elmer Soderblom’s fourth goal of the season snapped a tie early in the third period and gave the Detroit Red Wings the lead for good as they downed the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-4 on Wednesday.
The Red Wings ended a season-high six-game losing streak (0-4-2). Their previous victory was a 4-2 verdict over the Lightning at Tampa Bay on Dec. 6. The Lightning are 7-3 in their last 10 games, with Detroit accounting for two of those losses. “I think overall everyone was competing, getting to their spots and it just went well for us,” Detroit’s Michael Rasmussen said.
