Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks will welcome the Ottawa Senators to Canada Life Centre for an NHL game on Monday. The Chicago Blackhawks lost 1-3 in their last game over the Predators. Jones’ slot backhand tip 37 seconds after the opening faceoff put the Blackhawks ahead 1-0. Andreas Athanasiou picked up his 100th career assist on the goal.

Nashville tied it on Tomasino’s power-play goal at 9:36. Mrazek gave up a big rebound on Yakov Trenin’s shot and Tomasino had an open net. Saros made a big save on Jones’ drive from the point with 59 seconds left, and Sissons sealed the win for Nashville with an empty-net goal with 30 seconds remaining.

Barrie, playing his second game for Nashville since he was traded from Edmonton on Tuesday, made it 2-1 at 12:08 of the second with a 55-foot drive that was deflected by the Blackhawks’ Philipp Kurashev. Ryan McDonagh picked up an assist on the play. Petr Mrazek was screened by teammate Nikita Zaitsev, making his debut with Chicago. Mrazek finished with 22 saves.

Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators on the other hand won 5-2 against the Blue Jackets in their last game. Yanni Gourde scored 1:24 into overtime for the Seattle Kraken, who rallied for a 5-2 win against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Sunday. During a line change by the Avalanche, Gourde received a stretch pass from Vince Dunn and beat Alexandar Georgiev short side from the left circle.

“I didn’t see much of the net honestly. [Georgiev]’s a great goalie, he challenged shots a lot,” Gourde said. “I didn’t see much. Just felt that shooting low blocker was my best option.” Alex Wennberg and Brandon Tanev also scored, and Philipp Grubauer made 21 saves for the Kraken (36-21-6), who swept a four-game road trip. Seattle is in third place in the Pacific Division, two points behind the Los Angeles Kings for second, and two ahead of the Edmonton Oilers.

“We’re happy with the two points,” Kraken coach Dave Hakstol said. “We had to really stay with it, had to get a little bit better throughout the game. I got a ton of respect for [the Avalanche]. They’re outstanding. They’re playing on a back-to-back, so we had to find a way to take advantage of that, just in terms of overall energy as you go through the hockey game.”
