The New York Islanders will welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to UBS Arena for an NHL game on Tuesday. The Islanders won 5-1 against the Panthers in their last game. Aatu Raty scored in his NHL debut, Anthony Beauvillier added two goals and Ilya Sorokin made 22 saves, leading the New York Islanders to a 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Friday night.
Raty, a 20-year-old Finnish rookie recalled from AHL Bridgeport earlier in the day, beat Bobrovsky at 7:10 of the third. A second-round pick by the Islanders in 2021, Raty replaced injured center Casey Cizikas in the lineup. Anders Lee and Beauvilier assisted on Raty’s goal. “This whole day felt surreal,″ Raty said. ”So special and so special having a great game like this.”
The Penguins on the other hand lost 3-4 against the Hurricanes in their last game. Sidney Crosby scored his 19th goal, Bryan Rust his ninth and Brock McGinn added a short-handed goal for the Penguins. They lost to the Hurricanes for the second time in five days.
Jarry made 32 saves. He has points in 14 consecutive games, which is tied with Marc-Andre Fleury for the second-longest streak in team history. “We’ve won a lot of games, but our expectations are high and I think there’s another level to this group,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said. “We’re in the mix, but there’s a lot of hockey left and we have to push to get to that next level.”
