The game New York Islanders vs Chicago Blackhawks will take place at the UBS Arena (New York) on Sunday, December 4 at 7:30 PM ET.
As the season begins, both the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Islanders are moving in different directions. The Islanders have a 15-10 record but are looking to snap a two-game losing streak, while the Blackhawks are in last place in the Central Division with a 7-12-4 record. The next game appears to be a nice one as a consequence of the Blackhawks’ desire to move up from the bottom of the Central Division and the Islanders’ want to stay close to the top of the Metropolitan Division.
The Blackhawks’ offense is having a difficult season, averaging just 2.55 goals per game. The rest of the offense has struggled, but Patrick Kane, Max Domi, and Jonathan Toews have combined for 21 goals and 32 assists. Only four skaters have accumulated five goals or more, and only four skaters have contributed six assists or more, making it possible for rival defenders to shut down the helpless attack.
With their offense rising up and averaging 3.16 goals per game, the Islanders are off to a solid start to the season. The top two lines, Brock Nelson, Mathew Barzal, and Anders Lee, have combined for 22 goals and 48 assists, but the rest of the attack has also performed admirably. Zach Parise, Oliver Wahlstrom, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau have scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists collectively, and defenseman Noah Dobson and Ryan Pulock have contributed 8 goals and 19 assists from the point to completely dominate opponents.
