In their third preseason game, the New Jersey Devils will travel to face the New York Rangers. The Devils have a perfect record in the preseason after defeating the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 on the road and the New York Islanders 4-1 at home. In their last victory, New Jersey conceded an early goal to trail 1-0 before scoring twice before the conclusion of the first period thanks to goals from Yego Sharangovich and Dougie Hamilton. The squad merely kept adding to their lead after seizing it. Erik Haula scored towards the conclusion of the second period to make it 4-1, and Jack Hughes scored at the start of the third to seal the victory.
The Rangers have now played two preseason games and are 1-0-1 with a win against the Islanders and a 3-2 away loss to the Boston Bruins. In the first period of the defeat to Boston, Adam Fox’s goal gave New York the lead. Boston tied it early in the second period following a 1-0 first period. Before the second period ended, Alexis Lafreniere scored to give New York a 2-1 lead once more. Boston triumphed in overtime after tying it up in the third.
