The Canadiens had a bad run last season where they only won 22 games and lost 49 as they had only 55 points and as a result finished at the bottom of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division group. Right winger Cole Caufield had the most goals last season for Montreal with 23 while Nick Suzuki dished out the most assists with 40. Suzuki also finished last season with 61 points, which was the most for a Canadiens player.
The New Jersey Devils won 27 games and lost 46 as they finished in seventh place in the Eastern Conference Metropolitan Division last season. Left winger Jesper Bratt had the most goals for the Devils last season with 26 and also had the most assists with 47. He finished the season with 73 points which was the most for a player from New Jersey.
