The Philadelphia Flyers and their fans will not look back fondly on the 2022-23 season. With core players such as Sean Couturier, Cam Atkinson, and Ryan Ellis out indefinitely, they found themselves bottom of the Eastern Conference. Without a dramatic comeback, it would be his third straight year missing the playoffs and his fourth appearance in five years. Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said in early December that he was laying the groundwork for his future with head coach John Tortorella, according to Giana Han of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Fletcher avoided using the word “restructuring,” but walked away from what he described as an aggressive roster rebuilding plan last summer.

Whatever Fletcher calls his plans for the future, if his club doesn’t make it to the playoffs, he’ll likely be a seller before the March 3 trade deadline. The rumor mill wasted no time in mentioning Flyers players who could be out by the deadline or perhaps in the offseason. It appeared in a media talk that took place prior to the freeze on vacation plans. Who are the players Fletcher could put on the trade block in 2023 and where might they end up going?
