The Florida Panthers will welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to FLA Live Arena for an NHL game on Monday. The Panthers won 4-3 in their last game over the Bruins. Sam Reinhart took a pass from Aleksander Barkov in the opening seconds of overtime on Saturday and quickly fired the one-timer from the left circle. As the shot bounced off the crossbar and into the net past goaltender Jeremy Swayman, Reinhart immediately let out a roar and lifted his arms in the air as his teammates swarmed him on the ice.
A game that saw all ranges of emotion ended in euphoria for the Florida Panthers with a 4-3 overtime win over the NHL-leading Boston Bruins at FLA Live Arena. Overall, the game saw two massive blunders from the Panthers followed by two moments of redemption, a go-ahead goal by Boston with 48.6 seconds left, a game-tying goal by Florida with two seconds left and, finally, Reinhart’s overtime game winner 17 seconds into overtime.
And let’s not forget the stellar performance in net by Alex Lyon, the Panthers’ third-string goaltender playing in his sixth consecutive game with both Sergei Bobrovsky (lower body) and Spencer Knight (upper body) injured. “It was a gutsy win, to be able to come back,” Reinhart said. “Obviously it was a pretty devastating one to give up with under a minute left. … It’s a big effort to be able to pull out the win.”
The Lightning on the other hand won 5-2 against the Kings in their last game. Brayden Point had a goal and an assist, and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 on Saturday night for a franchise-record 12th consecutive home win.
Victor Hedman, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Corey Perry and Ross Colton also scored for Tampa Bay, which has won three in a row overall. Rookie defenseman Nick Perbix had three assists, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 26 saves. The Lightning surpassed the franchise mark of 11 straight home wins set in 2019-20 and defeated the Kings for the seventh straight time at Amalie Arena. The Lightning haven’t lost at home since Dec. 6 against Detroit.
“We get so motivated to play at home,” Colton said after the Lightning improved to 20-4-1 at Amalie Arena. “We have great fans and a great atmosphere.” Tampa Bay swept a three-game homestand against the Wild, Bruins and Kings to enter the All-Star break on an upswing.
