The game between the Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens will take place at FLA Live Arena on Wednesday, December 29 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Florida Panthers will welcome the Montreal Canadiens to FLA Live Arena for an NHL game on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 5-1 against the Islanders in their last game. Matthew Tkachuk scored his 15th goal of the season for Florida, which had won its two earlier meetings against the Islanders this season. Sergei Bobrovsky made 38 saves.
The inconsistent Panthers are 2-6-0 in their last eight games and 15-16-4 overall. They were coming off a 4-2 home loss to New Jersey on Wednesday after a 7-3 road loss at Boston on Monday. “We had no legs tonight,” Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. ”We couldn’t get pucks in deep. We just didn’t give enough tonight.”
The Canadiens on the other hand lost 4-2 against the Stars in their last game. Fourth-line forwards Jake Evans and Michael Pezzetta scored for the Canadiens, who have lost five of six (1-4-1). Allen stopped 32 shots.
Montreal has played the first three of seven consecutive road games. The Stars went 5 for 8 on the power play in sweeping the two-game season series, including a 5-2 win at Montreal on Oct. 22. Was that a result of Dallas’ attack or Montreal’s penalty killers struggling? “A little bit of both,” Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis said.
