The Florida Panthers will welcome the Detroit Red Wings to Amalie Arena for an NHL game on Thursday. The Panthers lost 5-2 against the Jets in their last game. Zac Dalpe and Carter Verhaeghe scored for Florida. Spencer Knight made 12 saves on 15 shots before being replaced by Sergei Bobrovsky early in the second. Bobrovsky stopped 16 of 17 shots.
“I thought we just came in with the right mentality,” Connor said. “We knew what we needed to do. The start of the last game (down 2-0) wasn’t it. It was on us to come out and I thought we responded really well.”
The Red Wings on the other hand won 2-4 against the Lightning in their last game. Ville Husso made 27 of his 44 saves in the third period and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 on Tuesday night. The Red Wings got goals from Michael Rasmussen, Jonatan Berggren, Adam Erne and David Perron.
Detroit coach Derek Lalonde faced the Lightning for the first time after being an assistant coach with Tampa Bay from 2018-22, which included Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021 “Really cool being back,” Lalonde said.
