Jason Robertson scored two goals and Jake Ettinger made 27 saves as the Dallas Stars beat the Florida Panthers 5-1 on Sunday. Defenders Nils Lundqvist, Esa Lindell, and Milo Heiskanen also scored for the Stars and endured a season-long two-game losing streak. Dallas reached mid-season and led the Central Division by one point over the Winnipeg Jets, who were handled in one game.

Carter Verhaeghe scored and Spencer Knight stopped his 29 shots for the Panthers. Florida, winners of last season’s President’s Trophy, are six points behind the previous Eastern Conference playoff standings at halftime. Robertson, who was named to next month’s All-Star Game in Florida last week, scored the first and final goal of Game 16. 45 comes into play at 4:21 of the third term. He leads Dallas with his 28 goals and his 57 points and has scored points in 9 of his last 10 games (5 goals, 13 points).

Ettinger, one of the players eligible to be named to next week’s All-Star roster, gave the Panthers his first win in his five-time career. Robertson took a touch pass from Joe Pavelski while running the right circle at the net. His first shot was knocked out by Knight’s right skate, but he returned to Robertson. He quickly lifted the rebound from a small hole behind Knight’s right shoulder late in the first period and stabbed it into the roof of the net. Robertson was offensively loose in his zone and grabbed his puck by himself early in the third period, his third power for the Panthers early in the third period. I almost scored with a shot.
