The Carolina Hurricanes will take on Columbus Blue Jackets at PNC Arena (Raleigh) in the NHL Preseason game on October 3. The Carolina Hurricanes opened the 2022 preseason with a 5-1 win over the Lightning and a 5-2 win over the Panthers. The win over Florida was particularly impressive for the Canes, who with a not-so-NHL-heavy roster he beat even the NHL-heavy Panthers group. Stefan Noesen, Derek Stepan, Justin Lovidas, Vasily Ponomarev, and Jack Drury scored in the match. Both rosters look pretty different, but now the Canes are going home to face the Panthers again. This time around, the Hurricanes have mostly his NHL group conquering the ice, and the Panthers have a group with plenty of prospects. So if the Hurricanes B Team can beat the Panthers A Team 5-1, how well can the Carolina A Team beat the Florida B Team?

While Justin Lovidas and Patrick Hamra have been assigned to their respective QMJHL teams for the 2022 preseason games, the busiest player on the ice at PNC Arena is Florida goaltender Spencer Knight. The young goaltender, who recently signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract extension with the Panthers, had 47 shots for Carolina in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 victory on Saturday.
