The Calgary Flames will take on Winnipeg Jets at Scotiabank Saddledome (Calgary) in the NHL game on October 7. The Winnipeg Jets’ last home game of the 2022 preseason is against the Calgary Flames. The Jets and Flames are also beginning a two-game series that will end their respective preseasons. On Friday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome, Winnipeg and Calgary will play again. 2-1-1 is the Jets’ record through four preseason games. They were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers in a shootout in their last exhibition game, 3-2. Six games, including one involving a split squad, have been played thus far by the Flames during their preseason.
They presently have a record of 4-2-0. The Calgary Flames defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1 in their most recent game. The competition for the sixth position on the Jets’ blue line has been in the limelight constantly since the start of training camp. Logan Stanley, Dylan Samberg, and Ville Heionla are the leading contenders at this stop. Over the course of these last two games, these three have a lot on the line.

Brad Lambert, a forward, has improved from being viewed as a long shot to make the Jets squad at the start of training camp to now being a contender for a spot on the team’s roster for opening night. Lambert is still unsigned, and the Jets have alternatives for where he may play during the upcoming season. Lambert will have another opportunity tonight to get a rookie deal and a position on the Jets roster.
