The game between the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings will take place at KeyBank Center on Wednesday, December 29 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Buffalo Sabres will welcome the Detroit Red Wings to KeyBank Center for an NHL game on Wednesday. The Sabres won 2-3 against the Knights in their last game. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made a career-high 41 saves and the Buffalo Sabres beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 Monday night.
Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson and Lawrence Pilut scored to help Buffalo get its first win at Vegas after coming in 0-3-1 all-time. The Sabres improved to 6-2-1 in December, after going 4-9-1 the previous month, and moved into a fourth-place tie with Florida in the Atlantic Division with 34 points.
The Red Wings on the other hand won 7-4 against the Lightning in their last game. Rookie forward Elmer Soderblom’s fourth goal of the season snapped a tie early in the third period and gave the Detroit Red Wings the lead for good as they downed the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-4 on Wednesday.
The Red Wings ended a season-high six-game losing streak (0-4-2). Their previous victory was a 4-2 verdict over the Lightning at Tampa Bay on Dec. 6. The Lightning are 7-3 in their last 10 games, with Detroit accounting for two of those losses. “I think overall everyone was competing, getting to their spots and it just went well for us,” Detroit’s Michael Rasmussen said.
