In a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Friday in Tempe, Arizona, Lawson Crouse scored the game-winning goal with 14 seconds left, and Karel Vejmelka made 43 saves to help the Arizona Coyotes snap a six-game losing run. Arizona scored the other goals, which were scored by Nick Schmaltz and Josh Brown. Crouse had two goals and one assist. 53 seconds into the third period, Schmaltz scored to give the Coyotes a 3-2 lead. For the Coyotes, who stopped a 19-game losing run to the Bruins, Matias Maccelli and Shayne Gostisbehere each got two assists. Arizona has won over Boston for the first time since 2010.

In place of the injured Darcy Kuemper, goalie Charlie Lindgren started his third consecutive game and had 25 saves. After a 12-game winning run, the Kraken dropped their third straight game thanks to an Adam Larsson goal. Against his previous team, Philipp Grubauer stopped 34 of 36 shots, aiding them in their 2018 Stanley Cup victory.

In the waning seconds of regulation, Jeff Skinner of Buffalo was assessed a severe cross-checking penalty, giving the Penguins a four-on-three advantage in overtime. The Penguins took advantage of the opportunity, and Carter from close range beat Craig Anderson (29 saves) to extend Pittsburgh’s winning run to five games. Winnipeg defeated Chicago to win its fourth consecutive game. The Jets, who have won seven of their last eight games, were led by Josh Morrissey’s two assists and goals from Cole Perfetti, Blake Wheeler, and Adam Lowry. 22 saves were made by David Rittich. For the Blackhawks, who have dropped their last 12 games and three in a row, Taylor Raddysh scored and Arvid Soderblom made 29 saves.

Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each recorded a goal and an assist to help the home team Edmonton defeat Minnesota. The only other goal came from William Carrier for Las Vegas, who increased its season record in overtime/shootouts to 6-1. For the victory, Adin Hill blocked 27 out of 28 shots. Carter Hart, the Flyers’ goalkeeper, lost after stopping 32 of 34 shots. Philadelphia’s lone goal was scored by Scott Laughton, who also snapped a 16-game goalless streak for himself.

New York defeated Colorado in Denver thanks to Igor Shesterkin’s 41 saves in overtime and two more in the shootout. Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin both scored goals in the shootout. For the Rangers, who won their third straight game, Braden Schneider scored a goal in regulation and Panarin contributed an assist. Alexandar Georgiev stopped 28 shots, Mikko Rantanen scored, and Colorado got a point after three consecutive regulation defeats.
