Eric Weddle is regarded by many as one of the modern greats of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on 4 January 1985 in Fontana, California. He played college football for the University of Utah and was also a consensus All-American. He last played for the Los Angeles Rams. He used to play for the Utah Utes between 2003 and 2006. He also won the Pro Bowl six times and also was rewarded with the All-Pro five times. He also won the Freshman All-American first-team and was a part of the All-Mountain West Conference honourable mentions.

Eric also won the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year, the first-team All-MWC, the second-team All-American, and also the Emerald Bowl Defensive MVP awards in 2005. He retired from the sport on 6 February 2020 and bade the NFL goodbye after 13 long and impressive seasons. He signed with the LA Rams’ practice squad yet again in 2022 coming out of retirement after Jordan Fuller was ruled out of the 2021 playoffs.

NFL Debut Season

Eric Weddle signed for the San Diego Chargers to a four-year contract on July 23, 2007. The contract was estimated at around $4.16 million which included $3.47 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $1.81 million. Eric Weddle was picked up by the Utah Utes in the 2003 NFL Draft. He started his NFL career against the Chicago Bears providing three solo tackles and leading his team to a 14-3 victory. Weddle finished his first season with 53 combined tackles (42 solo), a sack, an interception and six pass deflections in 15 games and 15 starts. Eric Weddle wore the #32 jersey number for all the teams he represented.

Eric Weddle is married to American sportswoman Chanel Weddle since 2005. She was born on February 25, 1984 and is 38 years old currently. She used to play for the Utah State Aggies in college and she also holds a degree in Special Education. Eric and Chanel met at the Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Eric and Channel married each other in La Jolla just before Eric’s junior season at Utah State Aggies. They lived in Ogden, Utah so that Chanel could stay near to the Utah State University in Logan where she used to play for the Aggies and did her schooling. Eric Weddle and Chanel Weddle have four children, namely Silver Jean Weddle (daughter), Gaige Weddle (son), Brooklyn Marie Weddle (daughter) and Kamri Joe Weddle (daughter).

Chanel was a major in special education and helped and taught the students who had disabilities. Chanel is a 38 years old athlete and is also featured on Wikipedia.
