The New York Giants will take on the Carolina Panthers at MetLife Stadium for an NFL game on Sunday. The Giants have an overall season record of 1-0 and come into this game on the back of a 21-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in their last game. Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 17 of his 21 passes and passed for 188 yards and had two touchdown passes and one interception. Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard and Chris Myarick recorded one touchdown each in what was a close game.

Saquon Barkley was all praise for his coach Brian Daboll and said after the game, “He’s a man of his word. He told us he was going to be aggressive and he told us he was going to lean on the players to make plays. In that situation, we did exactly that. When you have a coach like that, it definitely will make you go out there and fight for him and execute in that situation.”

Baker Mayfield will look to bounce back

On the other hand, the Carolina Panthers have a season record of 0-1 and sit in third place on the NFC South table and losing 26-24 to the Cleveland Browns in their opening game of the season. Baker Mayfield passed for 235 yards and had one touchdown pass and one interception as he completed 16 of his 27 passes. He also ran for six yards and scored a touchdown of his own. Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson ran for 33 and 102 yards respectively and recorded one touchdown each but could not prevent the loss.

Mayfield was clearly dejected after the loss and did not hold back as he bemoaned his team’s slow start. Speaking after the game, Mayfield said, “We would love to have the bragging rights against those guys, but we didn’t finish, mostly because we didn’t start fast enough.”
