The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Field for an NFL game on Sunday. The Jaguars have an overall season record of 0-1 and come into this game on the back of a 28-22 loss to the Washington Commanders. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 24 of his 42 passes and passed for 275 yards and had one touchdown pass and one interception. James Robison rushed for 69 yards and registered two touchdowns in what was a good game individually for him.
Travon Walker, who was the number 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft became the first rookie since TJ Watt to have an interception and a sack in his debut. Speaking after the game, Walker said, “It will have to be more than just one sack, one pick. Obviously we didn’t win the game so therefore a player like me that they drafted No. 1 is supposed to make plays like that, so I need to keep continuing to play better.”
On the other hand, the Indianapolis Colts come into this game on the back of a 20-20 tie against the Houston Texans in the last game. Matt Ryan completed 32 of his 50 passes and passed for 352 yards and in the process had one touchdown pass and one interception. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 161 yards and registered one touchdown while Michael Pittman Jr ran with the ball for 121 yards and scored one touchdown of his own.
Matt Ryan took some positives from the performance, which according to him, if worked up will help the Colts this season. Speaking after the game, Ryan said, “You’re disappointed to not come out of here with a win. At the same time we didn’t lose. We’ve got to find a way to tighten things up. But the effort across the board to me is encouraging. I think if we play with that kind of intensity, clean up some of these mistakes and execute a little bit better, there’s a lot of things we can build off of.”
